Right-click on the desktop and then go to View > Auto Arrange. Uncheck this option, then run the software again, and the default layout of the icons on your desktop will be used. Icon Restore is a free application developed by Tim Taylor and compatible only with Windows 9x, Windows ME, Windows NT 4.0, Windows 2000 and Windows XP. In order to use it with your Windows 7 computer, you can try to download and install Windows XP Mode and install the application in this environment. Windows XP Mode makes it easy to install and run many applications compatible with Windows XP directly on a Windows 7 computer.
